Untimely death of incumbent Dominique Jordan sees Australian leader begin his term immediately.
The worldwide pharmacy community has paid tribute to International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) President, Mr Dominique Jordan, after his untimely death overnight.
A Swiss community pharmacist, Jordan had been a member of FIP for more than two decades and during his career took a leadership role to advance the sector as CEO of pharmaSuisse, the Swiss Association of pharmacists.
He was elected President of FIP in 2018 after a five year stint as chair of the organisation’s Board of Pharmaceutical Practice, with Pharmaceutical Society of Australia National President, Dr Fei Sim, saying that despite his ongoing battle with cancer “Dominique always captured the tenacity and positivity in life”.
“On behalf of Australian pharmacists, PSA offers our deepest condolences to Mr Jordan’s friends, family and colleagues,” she said.
Sydney-based community pharmacist Paul Sinclair, who was designated as FIP president-elect last year (PD 19 September 2022), will now begin his term effective immediately.
